Miss Kathleen
Hello! My name is Kathleen Van Fossan, and I'm the lead teacher for the two-year-old classroom at Premier Academy! I started working at Premier in the winter of 2014 as a teacher's assistant and I've loved every minute of it!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. Currently I am attending Oakland Community College for my Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Before this, I obtained my B.A. in English at Alma College (with a minor in art).
Prior to my work at Premier Academy, I've worked at a myriad of jobs related to childcare and education. While attending Alma College, I worked as a teacher's assistant for a kindergarten classroom at Burton Glen Academy and as an English tutor for college freshmen. After I graduated from Alma, I worked as an arts and craft specialist, lifeguard, and waterfront specialist for Catholic Youth Organization's Girls Camp.
In addition, I've volunteered at several organizations, including Kohl's Cares for Kids, the Orion Township Public Library, the Farmington Hills Historical Museum, and the Clinton River Watershed Council.
In my spare time, I like reading, writing, drawing, painting, working out, and swimming! My family includes my mom, dad, older sister, and two big hairy dogs (Bob and Jack).
